I made a lot of friends at the Allister from the social events they host for residents. They keep the landscaping and amenities clean and maintenance is always helpful and quick to fix anything. The leasing staff is super friendly as well. Very pet friendly place.
I'd give 1 star, but the location is a nice residential area, so I'm giving 2 stars. The units have very cheap, peeling vinyl flooring. The units are very poorly maintained and are in great need of renovation. The wooden balcony has very weathered wood and the blinds on the porch window are cheap, horizontal dangling panels. The doors have one lock (no double bolt) and the doors face an outdoor hallway like a motel (no secure fob access). The two bedroom is $2,500, so this is not a cheap place. I'd recommend dropping the prices and making this complex into an affordable housing complex.
Pros:
• Background Check – 5 stars. This gave me a sense of security that I won’t be having shady neighbors.
• Customer Service – 5 stars. They were attentive and responsive (within a week to your maintenance request). Expect longer waits during move-in and move-out seasons (usually late spring to early fall).
• Facilities – 5 stars. Well maintained.
• Gym and Pool – 5 stars. Clean and well maintained.
• Location – 5 stars at least for me because this apartment is near my office as well as supermarkets, malls, dining and movie theaters.
• Package Storage Room – 5 stars. If you don’t want your packages delivered to your apartment, you have the option to have it delivered to the apartment’s package receiving center and they’ll keep it in a safe and secure storage room to claim later.
Cons:
• Internal Messaging via Residential Portal – 1 star. They screen what you post in there. For example, if you have stolen packages and you post this in their messaging site, don’t expect your post to be published. They want to project a perception that the apartment complex is free from porch pirates even though they can’t fully police the area.
• Non-Smoking Policy – 1 star. Admin fails in implementing this policy. In my building, there are some tenants that smoke marijuana. This has been going on for about a year. Unfortunately, the smell creeps in to your wall, wafting through vents and sink pipes.
• Parking – 1 star. There were series of break ins in this apartment complex. No cameras. Make sure that you lock your vehicles and remove your valuables. (Note: If you see idling vehicles for more than 10 minutes and see an out of the ordinary behavior, you can have them check by their security department. Ask Allister for their phone number. I opted not to publish it here so that only important calls go in.
• Walls – 3 stars. Rather thin and you can hear neighbors’ conversations.
I have loved living at the Allister these last years. Mary Helen and the entire leasing team have been awesome. I have found them to be very professional and friendly. The Allister is centrally located in a beautiful residential neighborhood of Raleigh. Often there are fun social activities for residents and their pets so you can get plugged in right away. The complex is well landscaped and maintained. And the maintenance team could not be more responsive and helpful! It’s a great place to live!
I lived at Allister for 5 years before moving out to purchase a house and I cannot recommend Allister enough! The staff is amazing (especially Noverlys!), amenities are great and overall is a very pleasant living experience. We will miss it and are thankful for such a great 5 years there.
It has been an amazing experience so far with Allister North Hills! A big thanks to Sara, for the wonderful tour of the units and showcasing the very best, that led to us finalising a place there at the very first meeting. She made sure that our first impression of the place is top notch. The entire process right from the tour to the paperwork etc, has been very smooth and hassle free and as per the time committed. We are eagerly looking forward to move to our new Home apartment! Thanks!
I have absolutely LOVED my time living at Allister. The units are very modern and updated, and the amenities are top notch for the price. The staff and maintenance teams here are incredibly responsive and always go the extra mile to make sure we as residents are satisfied. I would recommend Allister to anyone wanting homey and luxurious apartment living. You will be very satisfied here and won't want to move out!
We toured a one bedroom last year prior to moving to the area. The prices are very nice compared to other apartment complexes in the area. This was our number one spot we were going to pick (ultimately ended up renting a house) so that is the only reason why we didn't choose this apartment complex. The area is set up nice and the lady that gave us the tour was very friendly. The vibe here is on point and although there was a pool party going on, it was SO quiet. That is very important when choosing a place to call home! If you're in the area, give this complex a chance! Amazing one bedroom options and lots of nice amenities.
